Silhouette

Silence always remained when we were together,
I would draw and he would stare,
all the time, every time…
We would sit under his favorite tree,
Him smoking and me longing his warmth,
Listening to the hard drops of rain as it fell,
I hated smoke but loved him eternally…
He would tell me things nobody ever did…
Teach me things I never knew…
He taught me to love…

I found myself sat under his favorite tree,
Listening to the hard drops of rain,
My art lost within me and my look widowed…
He became a silhouette of someone I loved so badly,
I was a silhouette of someone he admired once upon a time…
His heart turned to stone and mine to dust,
I loved once then never again…
Our hearts danced to the music of love…
Becoming only silhouettes as rain drops fell again…
